I ordered hoping it would be a more comprehensive "how-to" video. The video provides a nice overview, but fails to really get into anything too deep. For $90, I was expecting a little more. I would recommend only if you have the money to spare.

I watched the DVD and played with the software the day before my all day G1000 checkout. Even with the short prep time on my end, this video and software put me ahead of the game which allowed the instructor to whiz by some of his company's 'requirements'. My actual checkout was a breeze due to just a little prep time with this product. Though VFR utilization of the G1000 is very simple now, I'll still reference the DVD and software to refresh myself on loading approaches or SID and STARs. If you are new to the G1000, this product will make you a more confident pilot out of the chute.

Crappy video quality. For the price, I would have expected a picture for viewing. Even with my High Definition monitor set to a high resolution, the picture was blurry. This washed out much of the detail.

The video course was very well laid out and gave excellent information. This help me understand the quickly how to use the G-1000. I definitely saved a lot of time in the cockpit trying to learn how to operate the G-1000.

The simulator software did not load onto my system. But I when I called the customer service at Sporty's they halped me get the new software.
