Good value for Noise Cancelling - I guess.
Cons
I suppose I was expecting something Bose like at 1/3 the cost. Wishfull thinking. The audio input is nice to have, but when I plug in my tunes, the volume is very low. The noise cancellation is not as effective as I would like. I will be going Bose now and keep this set as a spare.

Pros
Fairly lightweight. Has very good noise canceling considering the price. Doesn't eat batteries
Cons
Clunky looking - not as "sleek" as other Lightspeed headsets. Boom has to be very close to the user's mouth in order for the user to hear his own voice in the headset. Some may say this is a pro and not a con.
General Comments
Overall, I have been pleased with the headset. I haven't found it too hot, either considering the high temps here in the southwest.

Pros
The price was good for an ANR, the built-in ports for the cell and mp3 were also nice features.
Cons
Maybe I've used Bose too long, but the noise reduction was not quite what I was expecting. They are a little tight around the head for me but since my daughter is the one that will occasionally use them, I cannot vouch for her. All in all I was quite dissapointed with them and I'm seiously considering returning them and just saving my pennies up for another Bose.

I had not used Lightspeed since my training school's models 25 and 15 anr headsets on a 172 Cessna. That was a couple of years ago. Back then I thought they were great. When I got my private, I rewarded myself (and my wife) with a pair of Bose headsets. That's all I've used since then so to say I was dissapointed is an understatement.

Pros
Cost, ease of use, function, padded overhead band.
Cons
No connection for bluetooth cellphones like my Razr(but no headset on the market has them, they all have 2.5mm cords for older style cell phones)
General Comments
I bought this as an upgrade to my QFRSoloC PNR headset and use it in my Allegro 2000 SLSA. It functions particularly well given the higher cockpit noise in an LSA turning 5500 RPM on takeoff and climb out. The FBO says I sound like a jet pilot in the pattern. I have used other ANR headsets during training and have found the Lightspeed QFRXCc to equal or exceed them in function(and beat the pants off of them in cost). Don't waste your money on more expensive headsets. You're paying for function, not the namebrand. By the way, I kept one of my QFRSoloC PNR headsets as a backup and for passengers. At 11 ounces and the best PNR on the market, it cannot be beat. Whenever I need my next headset, it will be a Lightspeed. Excellent build, function, performance at fantastic prices.

I feel that, for the money, the QFR X-C ANR headset is the best buy for someone on a budget. I have had the QFR Solo for several years and it is very comfortable even after 7 hours in the air in one day. It doesn't have the heavy clamping force of some headsets but is still very quiet. The X-C system just expands on an already great headset to make it even better. I sometimes forget to turn the active noise reduction on..the passive side is that good.
