The best Lightspeed headset yet
The all new Zulu ANR is lighter, quieter and has better acoustics than any headset LightSpeed has ever made.
Quiet
The low profile ear cups are made from magnesium, which reflects 10 times more sound than plastic cups, yet is stronger and lighter. Even with the ANR turned off, the headset is remarkably quiet. Add Lightspeed’s renowned active noise reduction and Zulu simply delivers more overall noise cancellation than any headset available.
Comfortable
The Zulu is made from magnesium, stainless steel and four different types of composite plastics for excellent durability, but it weighs a mere 13 oz. It also features a new ergonomic fit, with 40% less lower side pressure than the 3G series. Luxurious leather earseals with temperature sensitive foam make for a soft and comfortable fit.
Bluetooth compatible
Zulu allows you to connect wirelessly with your cell phone, iPod, MP3 player or other compatible device—ideal for passengers or long cross-countries. All controls are conveniently located in the battery box. Also includes wired inputs for music and cell phone.
Front Row Center Audio
Because Zulu is so quiet, you can actually appreciate fine audio. And the headset is loaded with audiophile features, like premium gold contacts and Lightspeed’s innovative Noise Gating Technology, which reduces intercom noise. The patent-pending Front Row Center feature uses special circuitry to create an amazingly lifelike, surround-sound environment in the headphones.
Folds flat for storage. 5-year warranty. Includes: headset, microphone windscreen, 2 AA batteries, carrying case, 2.5mm cell phone cable, audio device cable, user guide.

Pros
Great Product. I have just started to use it as a student helicopter pilot and they are very easy to use and great sound quality. I like the fact that it has blue tooth for my phone if I want to make a call once I am landed and secured. I applied for the$50 rebate and received it within 5 days.
Cons
No drawbacks except for the price. Although they they are cheaper than the Boise

Pros
Comfortable, last headset I had was a David Clark H10-13H. The Zulu has much less clamping pressure.
Audio input is great to have.
Sound quality is very good, you can adjust the treble via a dip switch, the FRC also makes a difference to the tone of the radio transmissions as well as the music source.
I haven't used the bluetooth to make a call, but my phone seems to connect with out issues.
Cons
I occasionally have had issues with pops and hissing, I have bent the headband a little to get more clamping pressure. I seem to get less popping now, but do have some air gaps around my glasses (causes hissing).
ANR does not do a good job of attenuating the high freq. of transmission & (turbine) engine in helicopters, I would recommend wearing earplugs in addition to the headset.
The right hand volume control wasn't working right at first, this seems to have resolved itself though.
General Comments
The best setup I have yet found for noise protection was my standard DC with a set of CEP's. The Zulu comes close, when wearing earplugs, but blows the DC setup out of the water for all-day comfort.

maybe i just got a dudd! but on using it for the first time i found that the MP3 sound quality was below expectation, i could only hear music and not any vocals, i receive a screeching feedback when the transponder is being interrogated and when you're approaching to a platform 60 nm offshore, i could think of more herioc reasons of going into the drink than a headset. and there's a popping or pressure felt on my left eardrum on the reception of most radio calls...going to send it back and hope for a better one next time...
i do like the headset but not sure its doing much more good than me keeping a couple fingers in my ears...

Pros
Very quiet, makes flying enjoyable in noisy environments. Set up and easy operation when airborne. Very light weight and comfortable on long flights. I tend to forget that it is there until I hear the radio comms.
I utilize the cord clips when ever possible, great little plus for cockpit management.
Cons
Wish the case was a little thicker to allow for more room during storage periods.
Mic seems to be super sensitive to wind noise when flying with out doors.
Still a good portion of money to invest in a headset, but well worth it.
General Comments
Over all a great product with fantastic features that others don't have. Great deal for the money, versatile, comfortable, all around great headset. As for the durability rating, I tend to baby my investment and so far have been pleased with the headset.

Pros
Bluetooth capable; Aux input for MP3 player/accessories; Lightweight; Comfortable; Great ANR; Clear sound (others tell me I'm a lot clearer sounding than with my old D&C headset); Hard, protective carrying case (big plus to me over the Bose).
Cons
Non-reversible Mic boom
General Comments
It's difficult to judge some of the categories above as I just recently received the headset (durability/reliability). It seems more durable than the Bose and comes with a better carrying case, but only time will tell. So far, everything has been excellent. It's still a bit expensive, so therefore only 4 stars on Value, but it still is cheaper than the Bose and has more features. Perhaps that should be 5 stars then... you decide.
I would have really liked to have a reversible mic boom, but that is minor in comparison to the quality that I feel I'm getting by choosing the Lightspeed over the Bose. Don't get me wrong, the Bose is a GREAT headset. I just think this one is GREAT also and has a few more features that made it a no-brainer over the Bose. I really, REALLY like the hard case. I can put it in my backpack and not worry about it getting smashed. As a CFI on the go, this gives me added piece of mind for my investment.
I did try to pair my bluetooth cellphone with the headset. Everything seemed to work just fine, but when I tried to call someone, I could hear them, but they couldn't hear me. I only tried it the one time, so I will have to play with it some more to see if I did anything wrong. I won't review that aspect of the headset just yet.

Pros
I love the headset. Bose users that have tried it like it better. Very comfortable on long flights. Audio quality is excellent with iPod hooked up.
Cons
Headset case could be a little larger, but not really a problem after you figure out how to pack them.
General Comments
Dip switches not set to what the instructions say are the factory default. The headset has good base sound for music, but be aware of using to much bass because they can't handle it.
