The best Lightspeed headset yet
The all new Lightspeed Zulu is lighter, quieter and has better acoustics than any headset Lightspeed has ever made.

Quiet
The low profile ear cups are made from magnesium, which reflects 10 times more sound than plastic cups, yet is stronger and lighter. Even with the ANR turned off, the headset is remarkably quiet. Add Lightspeed’s renowned active noise reduction and the Lightspeed Zulu simply delivers more overall noise cancellation than any headset available.

Comfortable
The Zulu is made from magnesium, stainless steel and four different types of composite plastics for excellent durability, but it weighs a mere 13 oz. It also features a new ergonomic fit, with 40% less lower side pressure than the 3G series. Luxurious leather earseals with temperature sensitive foam make for a soft and comfortable fit.

Bluetooth compatible
The Lightspeed Zulu allows you to connect wirelessly with your cell phone, iPod, MP3 player or other compatible device—ideal for passengers or long cross-countries. All controls are conveniently located in the battery box. Also includes wired inputs for music and cell phone.

Front Row Center Audio
Because the Lightspeed Zulu is so quiet, you can actually appreciate fine audio. And the headset is loaded with audiophile features, like premium gold contacts and Lightspeed’s innovative Noise Gating Technology, which reduces intercom noise. The patent-pending Front Row Center feature uses special circuitry to create an amazingly lifelike, surround-sound environment in the headphones.

Folds flat for storage. 5-year warranty. Includes: headset, microphone windscreen, 2 AA batteries, carrying case, 2.5mm cell phone cable, audio device cable, user guide.

have only had a couple of weeks, so I can't really attest to the reliability. but I have to say I really love this headset - let me qualify by saying it is my first headset I've ever bought having just got my JAA PPL(A) in September. great headset

Pros
Excellent ANR quality. Bluetooth connection to cell phone linked-up easily.

Cons
The headset case is too bulky to fit into the flight bag and hard to carry separately because it doesn't have a handle.

General Comments
The Lightspeed Zulu is a good value compared to the Bose X. I've used both. The sound quality is similar, but the Zulu has the Bluetooth feature (which the Bose doesn't), and it's $150 less than the Bose.

Pros
Excellent comfort and noise attenuation. Works flawlessly with both my iPod and cell phone. Battery life has exceeded my expectations.

Cons
The control unit/battery compartment is in a very weird location. It is too close to the end of the cables and usually winds up under the seat or down at my feet since there isn't enough distance from where it plugs-in for it to rest easily in my lap.

General Comments
You'll need to spend a few minutes reading through the manual to understand how to use all of the features and to set up the initial bluetooth connections at home (not in the cockpit), but once you do, there is no better headset available on the market today at any price!

Pros
Light, comfortable, and very effective I haven't had them very long, so I can't really say how durable or reliable they are..but they do feel pretty sturdy.

Cons
Before I got the bigger headband pad I had some trouble making it stay in place, and the seal wasn't very good. I contacted customer support and they sent me a larger pad for the headband and everything works great! Customer support was awesome btw- very helpful and polite.

General Comments

Cons
If you don't have them on your head exactly right, you will hear a faint flutter in the earpiece. At first I thought it was a defect, but if you adjust them for your head better and the ear cups seal properly, the problem goes away. The phones do not let you know they are in afibrulation. They are physically large and do not store well in a compact flight bag.

General Comments

Cons
Fitting. My head is big and still with the Headset all stretched it is pressing a litle over my head, despite being very confortable to use. For me an inch bigger in length would feet perfectly. Still did not use in long trips.

General Comments
Overall a +A headset. Could be a bit longer. Price. But this is a problem of all Headsets. A Great regular headphone would cost around U$ 350,00 from the major brands, so asking plus U$ 500,00 for the ANR and microphone i think is still very expensive.

Pros
Worth every cent I paid for it. With my old David&Clark passiv I had a hard time understanding ATC, which eventually became major factor during my instrument training. The Lightspeed ZULU allowed me to listen to ATC and actually understand them without a perpetual "Please say again". If you have trouble hearing radio transmission get one of these. It made all the difference to me.

Cons
Very expensive Changing batteries during flight is awkward
