This tiny LED light can be a real lifesaver in an electrical emergency. Just stick one onto the face of an instrument (altimeter, tachometer, etc.) and turn it on. You’ll get a bright illumination of the instrument, without blocking the hands. Use multiple to light the entire panel if needed. Also useful as a temporary fix when post lights go out—keep a set on hand just in case. Uses three watch batteries (included).

Pros
Its a cool concept and these little lights make great work lights for tight areas as well.
Cons
The white light is too bright to be conducive for night flying. It would be much better if the light were red.
General Comments
I'm not sure I would recommend them for anyone wanting to use them while flying at night. The light is too bright to preserve one's night vision. But, they are useful for different applications; anywhere a small, bright light could be helpful.

Ordered three, one worked great, two arrived with weak batteries. Have not contacted Sportys for new batteries. More trouble than it's worth.
General Comments
Need to check batteries before shipping to customer. Would have rated all five stars if not for weak batteries.

Very few.
Cons
Suction cups don't hold in a stationary plane, much less in motion. The battery covers fall off, then the button batteries fall all over the place. The switches are not robust. These are poorly made and just plain don't work.

I do not recommend this product.

Bought as extra lighting for a poorly lit instrument. Works good.
Cons
Too bright!!! Took one battery out to dim it. Also, the clear case lights up the entire cockpit. I wrapped mine with electrical tape to cover it up. Battery door opens too easily. Haven't lost any batteries yet though.
General Comments
Ok for a backup instrument light. But definitely too bright and can ruin your night vision if your not careful. Would be better with red LED.

Should be available also in red. Make sure to breathe on the suction cup first and it will stick far longer. Tends to vibrate off if you don't.

I bought three of these for my Cessna 180A amphibian. They seem like a good idea, but since the light is white, they're not ideal for night use. I managed to take one apart and replace the white LED with a red one, and I'm looking forward to trying that out on an actual night flight now that it's dark by 5:00 or so.
Seems as though it would make sense to offer this with a red light.
