Available Exclusively from Sporty’s
Tired of flashlights that are bright enough for preflight but too bright for the cockpit? This custom-made light is the best of both worlds. Independent switches allow the user to select which color of light is needed without having to scroll through multiple colors. 10 white LEDs provide maximum illumination for outside the cockpit, while three red LEDs preserve night vision in the cockpit. Still too bright? Switch on the one red LED for just the right amount of light for viewing charts and flight plans without disturbing sleeping passengers. Measures 6 1/2” long.
Features:
• Independent switches for each color of light
• Constructed of precision machined anodized aluminum
• Shatterproof LED diodes last over 110,000 hours
• Includes carrying case and batteries
• Limited lifetime warranty

Pros
Great light. The LEDs are great as far as battery useage is concerned. It really helps when you are doing a preflight and need to look in the engine compartment. For us 182 pilots, we only have a tiny little window to check the oil and inspect the engine so the light is crucial. When it comes to night-flying, this light is a tremendous help. The red LEDs are a good backup for cockpit lighting and the white LEDs really help you in the preflight. 8500' is not when you want to notice a problem with the controls.
Cons
I guess a blind man would have trouble using this light, but what's he doing flying anyway?
General Comments
Some of us are regulars on the night shift up there and this light makes things a lot easier.

works as expected, bright LED lights, tough construction, nice to have varrying intensities of white and red light all in one light.
Cons
only one here is that sometimes you dont know which button is the white or red light, and blind yourself by accidently turning on the white light during night flights!

Pros
This flashlight is very durable, first night flight we did with it and a passenger used it to throw a bag into the hold and when she got back in she dropped it, we didn't notice until we rolled right over it, stopped and picked it up, not even a noticable scratch! The 1/3 red led feature is really helpful when reading something with a white background in the cockpit then with darker maps the 3 led red is great!
Cons
The white LEDs are nics for preflight however they are not bright enough in my opinion. I did do a preflight with it and I could see reasonably well but if something looked off I would have needed a brighter, or more focused, light.
General Comments
Overall this is the best flashlight I have seen and running on 3 AAA batteries and room on the case to store 3 more no risk of having a dead light in flight.

No lens adjustment, peripheral on white is low.
3 Triple A batteries in a cylinder cartridge... failed connection = failed flashlight. Would feel safer with batt/batt stack.
General Comments
Went to two minimags instead, red one with red lenses. AA's are generally used more anyway, making semi-bulk batt buying easier.

Pros
The light on/off switches are intuitive and easy to use.
Cons
The light/LED assembly at front of the light is loose and so there is an intermittent connection. I have to tap the unit to make the lights go on and frequently have to re-tap to make them stay on. NOT GOOD FOR A PILOT EMERGENCY FLASHLIGHT!!!!!!!!!!
I can only hope that this was a rare manufacturing defect. There seems to be no way to access this part of the light to attempt to fix it myself.
This thing needs a lanyard or at least a clip or place to attach one. Many pilots like to hang these lights around their necks or on tethers of some sort.
Too expensive.
I'll be returning this.
Smith & Wesson should stick to guns or whatever else they are good at.

Pros
This is an excellent flashlight for night flying. The white light is very effective in performing a preflight while the red lights are great for use around the cockpit while in the air. The light is very well constructed and very rugged. I've paid much more for other lights without all the features. Separate switches for the white and red lights so you don't blind yourself by having to cycle through the white light. Comes with a case to protect the light in between uses as well as hold a spare set of batteries.
Cons
Rather large. The light has to be placed in a chart pocket for storage between uses. Both the single red and double red LED's are bright. I use the single red and then cover the lense when shutting it off when I cycle through the double red LEDs. No ability to place around your neck as the light is too big.
General Comments
