Garmin recently changed the style of their plug to a straight plug the photo is in accurate. From the original 90 degree angle plug now it will not fit in my GPS mount in my plane. The new plug is worthless I had to return it to Sportys. Why a company would change the plug style is beyond me. I spoke to a Garmin Representative I was told the change was to stop wire breakage. If the consumer would grasp the plug to to remove it. They wouldn't have that problem. I still don't understand why a company as large as they are couldn't carry both styles of plugs. I purchased a Garmin 196 when they first came out and I have used the same mount ever since. After paying $2300 for the GPS I expected better support from Garmin.

Very poor design. Does not last long when moved from one
plane to another. Garman should have to replace them every
time they come apart.
