Pros
Hey, it's David Clark so it's got to be good right?
Cons
Clamping force is not sufficient to positively seal the set against your head. This is particularly noticeable if you wear glasses (which I do). Without a positive seal the ANR doesn't function correctly which results in little, or no, noise reduction rendering your purchase worthless.
The units also seem to be cheaply made compared to other David Clark units.
General Comments
I tried 2 of these with the same result. Both units were returned to Sporty's (without any issues which I appreciate). I would not recommend this unit at all.
I replaced these with Lightspeeds which I'm happy with. However I'm now in a mode of not buying imported products so I'd probably look around for an American made option.

Pros
The David Clark X11 is a great headset. It is light, compact, very comfortable, and has great sound quality. It is a night and day difference between the DCX11 and the headsets I have used in the past. For the price and features it offers I think it is a really good value.
Cons
I have only tried the cell phone hook up twice however, although it works and the sound quality is good it seems to make my phone (a Samsung Saga) go crazy by somehow making features on the touch screen automatically turn on and off once it is pluged into the DCX11. I am sure it is some type of setting issue but I have not spent the time to figure it out.
General Comments
Great headset, great price, and Sporty's shipped it quickly so I had it in a matter of days!

Pros
With noise reduction on,they virtually eliminate, engine noise.
Static gone.Comfortable on the ears. They seem to breath enough to keep head comfortable, temperature wise, however I've yet to use them in temperature's above 70.I have only 18 hours logged so far, so ask me again in a couple months.
They are definitely better than the sets provided, which work fine mind you,but I truely notice the difference in quality.
Cons
The head portion could use some cushioning. Can't wear ball cap.Sunglasses pry the set away from head.Enough to allow excess noise in.Enough to make one angle the sunglasses up,off the ear,in an uncomfortable, optically cumbersome position, just to seal the phones back to the head, and get that silent comfort back.My instructor owns DC's as well.Today I noticed,he had his sunglasses cocked too.

Wow.
This is one of the most comfortable headsets that I have ever used. It is light weight and feels nearly as though it was custom fitted. Noise cancelling is good, stereo sound is good and while I have not used the external audio in on it I have high expectations. A new classic.

Pros
A confortable fit. The cups swivel front to back as well as up and down, which makes for a god comfortable fit and easy and compact storage. The head set is very light and after a while you forget you have it on.
Valume adjust in the headphone cups (right where they should be!) So it's easy to make an adjustment if needed and it never gets changed accidentally.
Cons
The microphone pick up has a lag and you need to have the mic right on the lip. One centimeter out and forget about it! That drives me nuts.
The passive noise reduction is just o.k. and the active noice cancellation is not great either. Sometimes it is hard to tell if it is on or off.
General Comments
David Clark is a great company that makes great products, not sure why the X11s are a bit underpowered in the ANR. I'm sure they have their reasons.

Pros
The X-11 has excellent noise canceling characteristics. The auto cut out feature of one ear piece with media and ATC is very nice to have. This feature takes a bit to get used to but works good. Folds nicely and fits into bag well. Relatively light headset.
Cons
Clamping force is firm but it does loosen up or I got used to it within a few days. The first one I received had a short in one of the volume controls. Sporty's sent me a new one and it seems to be working fine. Battery life is about 20-25 Hrs. Less than what I am used to but acceptable.
General Comments
Very quiet headset. I use it in various 737's and does a great job. I was using a Bose QC2/UFlyMike combo headset so any other headset will be second best. The X-11 is a suitable replacement. Sporty's customer service is great.

Pros
It is very light. Comfortable. The thin head pad is nice allowing a little bit more head room (flying in a Cessna 172). The auto off feature is great not having to replace batteries before a flight because unit was accidentally left on.
Cons
The X11 is the most expensive of all David Clark headsets.
General Comments
I am a student pilot and I can only compare this headset to the few that I have used at the flight school.

Cons
Passive and Active noise cancelling is less than other headsets. Some crackling and feedback. Battery life is not even one day of flying.
General Comments
Overall, they are not as good on noise cancelling as lightspeed sets, which cost less. However, they seem to not break as much as the lightspeeds.

Sporty's has the best price on the net for the X11! Comes with a bag and all the accessory cords for cell phone and I Pod. The phone cord is compatible with my LG500 phone. The headset is very comfortable and light weight.
Cons
None
General Comments
As a student pilot I will be flying 7 different airplanes on my way to my commercial rating. Sporty's support team was very helpful in giving the pros and cons of all their headsets. I finally settled on the X11 due to weight, reputation, accessories, price, and active noise canceling. After placing the order, I had the headset in two day's. I am very pleased with the service and price of the X11.
