For normal use, we recommend using the SP-200 with 8 AA batteries and the included alkaline battery case. Each set of 8 batteries lasts up to 15 hours. Use this spare alkaline battery case to “quick change” to a fresh set of batteries and you’ll get another 15 hours. Includes rubber terminal cover to protect case from corrosion when not in use. JD-200 no longer manufactured.
One Year Guarantee
Our one-year guarantee has not changed since we introduced our first product in 1962. If for any reason you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, let us know—we will make it right. If you would like a refund or exchange, please return the product on a timely basis in the same condition in which it was received.
Price Guarantee

Same Day Shipping
We're proud to offer the fastest service of anyone in the mail order business. If you phone, fax or order over the Internet today before 4:00 P.M. Eastern, weekdays it will be on its way this afternoon. Mail orders ship the same day we receive them. In an effort to ensure your package will be there when you want it, we have created an easy-to-understand delivery map for you. Please use the delivery map to estimate the number of business days to ship to your home or business by standard surface delivery. As a precaution, you may want to allow an extra day for delivery to assure that your package arrives on time. Running short of time? Ask about our One/Two Day Express Shipping Service. Some of our larger products are shipped pre-paid motor freight from Sporty's and require longer delivery times. Please allow one to two weeks for those products. Engraved and Embroidered items will ship in two days in most instances.
Return Policy
For over 40 years, in addition to same day shipping, Sporty's has offered same day returns and same day exchanges. Each day, we process all returns and exchanges before new orders go out. We know of no other company who does this!

Pros
Alkalines are nice.
Rubber top is a nice feature to keep the batteries from discharging.
Cons
Too expensive for what it is.
General Comments
Although the SP 200 has good battery life, one of these full of fresh batteries is a good idea to have as a back-up if you envision using the radio in an emergency in case your plane's primary radio fails.

Can be used as a back up battery pack to the radio, The terminal cover insures that tonight accidently falls on top of the terminals.
I seems like airplanes run on money and flight bags run on AA batteries, so get some that recharge!

Pros
It will attach to the SP-200.
Cons
1. The electrical contacts don't line up with the SP-200 so it doesn't work. The screws that are used as contacts in the replacement battery pack are smaller than the ones that come with the battery pack of the SP-200. The contacts don't touch so no power.
2. The rubber cover doesn't hold it together in the flight bag. You will need an additional rubber band or carry case to keep the batteries in the holder.
General Comments
While I can probably find the proper stainless pan head screws to make this work, I'd rather not jerry-rig a piece of equipment and I shouldn't have to.

Pros
Easy to keep batteries ready for use.
Cons
You should recommend Lithium cells rather than alkaline. I ruined my original two battery cases by leaving the alkalines in too long. Lithium longer shelf life will help. More energy stored also.
