I enjoy using this scanner whenever I go near an airport. Cons You have to be near an airport to pick up a clear signal. Also, the frequency range doesn't go low enough to pick up ATIS at the general aviation airport near my house. Overall Rating Durability Reliablity Value Usability Expectations	Pros Good sound quality, volume, and sensitivity. Seems rugged. Easy to listen to a single channel. NOT MADE IN CHINA! Cons A little tricky to operate, so I must refer to the manual a lot. It only scans five channels at most. The scanning method sounds like it is klunking through the channels with a lot of battery-draining effort. Have found the AM radio to be entirely unnecessary. Eats batteries quickly, so best used at home with an adapter. One of the crummy rubber knobs on the volume control slipped off and vanished very soon after purchase. General Comments It generally allows me to easily listen to the two nearby airport CTAF's which share a frequency. This is why I bought it.

Cons This product looks and feels cheap. The quality seems to be ok but a little extra money may be worth a more durable product. Also, inside my house I get horrible reception. I live right next to the airport and I expected to be able to listen while inside. General Comments If you are looking for an ok product for a beginner this is it. It does work, it just is not all that I expected.

Overall Rating Durability Reliablity Value Usability Expectations	Pros Perfect for listening to ASOS or ATIS on the way to the airport to get a heads up before uncovering, untieing, and starting your plane. Cons In my opinion it's not good for much else. It doesn't recieve VOR/NAV. Function does not justify the price. General Comments I would recommend paying the few extra bucks for the Transceiver. Then you have a fully functional backup radio, not just a walkie without the talkie.
