You do not have a jacket like the Alpha Industries with the outside shoulder pocket made of this leather.

Leather outside is soft, but feels thick and durable.
Inside is very soft and well padded for good protection.
Very pleased with overall quality. Better than expected.
Cons
Never have been a big velcro fan. Works OK for now while all is new inside. Concerned that might cause problems in time, pulling on inside fabric. Velcro makes an expensive looking bag look cheap, especially on outside pockets.
