A2 Aviator
The A2 Aviator was produced specifically for pilots. Consisting of a xenon bulb and 3 red LEDs, the Aviator is perfect for preflight and in the cockpit. The xenon bulb puts out 50 lumens of light and the red LEDs will provide 20 hours of illumination on two lithium batteries (included). Push button tail cap enables the operator to easily choose the appropriate amount of light for the occasion. Measures just 5 1/2” long and weighs a mere 4 oz.

Very well constructed, solid feeling flashlight. White is very bright, and red is perfect at night.
Cons
easy to push the switch in to far and get white light when all you want is red, be prepared to be blinded if you don't twist the end to where you won't get white. A bit expensive!

This is a tough and reliable light. The intensity options seem to be just right for all phases of night flight. The clip on the side of the light allows you to clip the light to a seat belt.
Cons
It doesn't operate quite the way one might expect and takes some getting used to. You have to twist it to get each light intensity, and keep twisting it to change to the next.
It would be much more intuitive if the button on bottom of the light was a switch that turned on each intensity one at a time. Now it is just a momentary on when pressed button, which is useless if you want to use your hand for anything else at all (like hold a chart, or fly the plane!)

This is a really well built light. My comments about the button are minor compared with the quality of the product.
