Outdoor in the car is the same... You need a biger antenna. General Comments I live in a saturated aircraft area and I don't know why sometimesu can ear trafic 200 mm far away and some times I can even ear the trafic 10 nm away... In general I like the product.

Cons Would like to see a lithium ion battery with longer life, needs a better instruction manual, range could be better. General Comments Overall I like it but this is my first handheld so I don’t have much to compare it to. Bottom line, I would recommend it.

It's multipurpose functions are great and it's easy to see / read display is very helpful. Cons A bit hard to understand the programming of memory channels. I went through it a couple of times, could just be me. General Comments All in all it's a great product and I would recommend it to any pilot.

Typical ICOM quality standards, easy to use and a highly valuable tool to have in the cockpit as a backup. Cons Antenna doesn't lock into place very well, you can accidently turn on WX alert (which screws up everything else) General Comments I bought three of these at the same time for my family and I and recommend them to everyone I know.

Overall Rating Durability Reliablity Value Usability Expectations	Pros Big easy to read display. 40 dollar rebate making it a better deal. Easy to learn to use after reading the manual a few times. Reception is good, I listen to ATC and planes 80 miles away. Comes with headset adapter. Cons Manual could be easier to read. General Comments It will take a little time to figure out how to manually input names for frequencies you want to save but you'll get it if you persist in reading the book. It will not scan if you set the squelch to zero, so watch for that. This is a great emergency and ground function radio in my opinion.

Functions are easy to understand without opening up the manual, especially if you've used a handheld, before. The manual is very straight forward. Cons I put the value at 3 stars only because you can get a better bargain for a back-up only radio. As a student, I wanted to buy the most that I could afford to carry me through my career. General Comments I've used Icoms in Afghanistan and they stand up very well. I bought this radio since I've read too many stories online, in books and on podcasts about radios going out.
