The only tie down with a mechanical advantage
Designed exclusively for aircraft, the Claw® is one of the best tie-downs on the market. In a product test here at Sporty’s, it outperformed the rest by holding up to 480 lbs. of force. Three arms extend to hold three stakes at an angle. The harder you pull, the more it grips the earth. Includes carrying bag, 20 ft of rope, 3 anchors, 9 spikes and one hammer with a custom head to easily remove the spikes. Weighs only 8 lbs. and has a limited lifetime warranty. Made in the USA.

Pros
The claw portion, spikes and hammer are all great. My wife and 11 year-old greeted me and set up The Claw at a grass strip while I unloaded the plane. When I left, they helped take it out of the ground again and stow it. My wife remarked how easy the whole process was. She's hard to impress and she was very impressed with this product.
Cons
I didn't like the yellow cord much. After I tightened it, it just never felt tight, so I ended up going to the hardware store and buying three straps and using them in addition to the yellow cord. I was glad I did, as some serious thunderstorms came through that night.
General Comments
A bit overpriced, and the cord is so-so, but otherwise a great product when you're in a place without permanent tie-downs.

Nice compact case.
Cons
Rope is in one length. You cut to fit your needs. That is good. However, you need to tape or melt the rope ends so they do not unravel. Prep for your airplane before the first use. The hammer is on the light side, but works fine.

Pros
Compact and comes with a small carrying case, simple set up and take down, should last for years even with heavy use. Used on a C182 in gusts of 45 knots - held with no problem.
Cons
The rope that comes with them really isn't very good - trade it out for heavy duty tie down straps or better rope. Keep the rope for emergency use. A bit on the pricey side but worked as advertised.
General Comments
A good, sturdy system for alternative tie downs. Product should last may years even with heavy use. So far I've only used them in sandy soil and they worked well.

The fact that it is a one time purchase is the only way to justify the price, but it sure makes a wonderful gift.

Pros
You might as well tie down to a rock--this thing ain't goin' anywhere. Perfect for soft/gravel/dirt fields where you won't find existing tie-downs.
Cons
Might want to get your own tie-down cords. This is relatively plain rope.

Pros
Used The Claw at Oshkosh this year and I really like it. It seemed to really hold the ground as well or better than any other portable tie down I have used. Also, it comes in a fairly substantial zip up carrying bag to keep from messing up the interior of the plane.
Cons
It would be nice if the tie down rope was a little more substantial and if it was cut in three even lengths. It is shipped with a single length of nylon rope that is fairly light and as complete as the kit is (even comes with a hammer), we had to improvise to cut the rope when we used it the first time. Also, we needed a lighter or some sort of flame to melt the ends so the nylon rope didn't come unraveled. We weren't prepared for that, so we just tied knots in the ends. This is a minor complaint, but it was the only problem with using it the first time.
General Comments
I would recommend the product to anyone and I believe it will last a long time. The parts are pretty hefty except the tie down rope. It isn't cheap, but it is a good product.
