Brass Hubs and Leading Edges
Original WWI propellers are extremely rare antiques treasured for their character and historical value, and for evoking thoughts of a simpler time. These authentic models replicate those from WWI aircraft that can sell at auction for upwards of $8000. Hand-carved of mahogany, they feature genuine brass hubs and hammered brass leading edges rather that being painted to look like brass. The mahogany has been "antiqued" with just the right amount of nicks to impart realism and personality. Each comes complete with hanging hardware but will be equally at home on a mantle, in a corner, or propped against a bookcase or fireplace. Measures 40 inches.

The brass leading edge along the wood is so poorly done that is bulges our between the nails holding it-to the point that you can insert a match stick.
Having seen a few early hand made props in my time, I was hoping (and according to the photo) to see a true replica of finer craft for that price-keeping in mind it is only supposed to be a decoration.
The brass plate on the hub is a joke.
General Comments
Over all, I am very disapointed, doing business with Sprty's since 1994 has been a pleasure most to the time, but not this time, frankly, I am embarrassed to show the prop.
Sporty need to do better screening of what they sell.
