Product Testing Under Pressure
While we take product testing very seriously here at Sporty's, we definitely have fun dreaming up different ways to test potential new products. When we heard about a portable air compressor promising to have the power of a full-sized unit, I knew no ordinary test would do.
Sure, it can pump up a car tire from zero to 32 psi in about minute. Sure, it's adjustable to 100 psi. But the claim of full-sized performance from such a small unit needed a special test.
Our quest was simple: What's the most extreme task we could find for an air compressor?
Answer: An earthmover tire. A twenty-ply monstrosity measuring over five feet high and two feet wide, with twenty-five times the volume of a car tire. Inflating an earthmover tire is the equivalent to inflating 25 car tires in succession, without a break for the compressor to "catch its breath" and cool off a bit.
I'm happy to report this compact air compressor lived up to its extreme claims. This truly is a commercial-grade unit in a portable size. Its powerful 3/4 HP motor is ready for continuous duty on any task you can dish out.
Having the right tools makes all the difference, so even though you will probably never need to inflate an earthmover's tire, isn't it nice to know we test our products to the extreme so you don't have to.
