Course Duration
RECREATIONAL PILOT
| PRIVATE PILOT |
INSTRUMENT RATING
| COMMERCIAL PILOT
There are a number of variables which make course duration difficult to predict:
Weather is one of the variables, but we can predict that a percentage of
the time will not be flyable. What we cannot predict is the student's preparation
and stamina. Students are expected to complete the Sporty's Video Course
for the certificate or rating and have completed other assignments before
arriving at Sporty's Academy. A student who completes the assignments will
take less time to earn the pilot certificate or rating.
Stamina is another factor. Fatigue impairs learning ability. We will not fly with a student who is fatigued.
Airplane and instructor availability are not variables.
An airplane and the assigned instructor are available for the student seven
days a week.
Listed below are approximate times to complete
the courses:
Recreational Pilot 2-4 weeks
Private Pilot 3-5 weeks - (Recreational + Transition)
Instrument Rating 3-6 weeks
Commercial Pilot 3 - 12 weeks
Ab Initio Commercial Pilot 6 - 9 months
