Sporty's Academy is located in the heart of the
United States, just a short distance to many of the various features and
vistas that the United States offers. This allows Sporty's Academy to offer
a variety of training situations that can not be duplicated anywhere. Pilot's
that want to experience new and exciting challenges in aviation can enroll
in a specialized training course. They will receive further training in
subjects that will make them a much better pilot and offer memories that
will last a lifetime.
Night Training
Many pilots, especially outside of the U.S., have a limited experience of
night flying. A specialized program of night flight training can subside
the apprehension that many pilots have about night flying. The night training
program offers students one-on-one instruction on more than just the basics
of night flight. The course will open the doors to a better understanding
of the illusions and the special preparations required for night flight.
The flight portion of the night training program offers pilots the ability
to experience operations at night from major metropolitan airports to smaller
back-country airports with nonstandard lighting. This program will improve
the confidence of any pilot flying at night.
High Density Traffic Airports
Pilots can experience the thrill and excitement of piloting an airplane
into and out of some the busiest air traffic centers in the world. In a
Sporty's Academy Bonanza A36, Washington DC is just a few hours away and
will allow a pilot to experience some of the greatest challenges know to
any pilot. Washington DC makes a perfect day trip, arrive in the morning,
enjoy lunch, the National Air Space Museum and depart in the afternoon for
a memorable day. Just a little further is the New York City complex. Numerous
major airports squeezed together along with some of the most challenging
airspace will make this training a memory for a lifetime. Spend the evening
and enjoy a tour of New York City and even fly down the famous Hudson River
corridor as you see the Statue of Liberty, Central Park and the Empire State
Building. Each of these flights will incorporate one-on-one instruction
on High Density Traffic Airport Operations and demonstrate how you can operate
with the "Big Boys".
Enjoy your Training
Other memorable experiences abound, and can be integrated into your pilot
training. These include things such as visiting Chicago, the Great Lakes,
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame or how about Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley.
Explore the birth of aviation by visiting nearby Dayton, Ohio, where the
Wright Brothers developed their flying machine and then fly out to Kitty
Hawk, where powered flight all started. Also nearby are other adventures
just waiting to be discovered, the Atlantic Ocean, Appalachian Mountains
and the mighty Mississippi River just to name a few.
